Late last year, SAP midwest regional representatives turned to SCMO2 to help collaborate on a proof-of-concept presentation to Cleveland-based Applied Industrial Technologies. Applied is a public company focused on the manufacture and sale of industrial parts, fluid power components and the modification, repair and installation of industrial rubber components such as conveyor belts and hoses.
SAP Turns to SCMO2
Applied was challenged by planning for a segment of slow-moving products with sporadic demand, and was looking for a system that would provide better insights to help forecast and manage production. During the scope of preparing a bid for the account, SAP teamed up with SCMO2 to develop an IBP Inventory demo that illustrated how this solution would work for their difficult demand patterns.
Together, a detailed model of Applied’s demand challenges was created in SCMO2’s live IBP demo system and the findings were presented to the client to show how their product segmentation would be performed in IBP and how the platform would calculate targets for each of those product groups. Both SAP and SCMO2 continue to maintain communications with Applied as they work through their internal analysis and decision-making channels to conclude the selection shortly.
Effective Partnership
SAP has successfully partnered with SCMO2 on numerous opportunities in the past, resulting in a mutually beneficial investment of time and resources on new business development. SCMO2 always maintains an excess capacity of demo modeling resources to devote to new SAP pursuits as they arise.
