Yo! Sound the Bell, School’s in Sucka!
Time to Budget and Set Priorities for 2023
By Clay Thomas, Principal ArganoSCMO2
I’m a kid of the 80’s, and so it’s that time of year when I can’t help but think of the infamous MC Hammer lyric: “Yo! Sound the bell, school’s in sucka!” This year’s budget planning season may have you humming the same tune, given the persistent labor shortage created after the “Great Resignation” gave way to the “Great Regret.” This continued talent drain has resulted in so many new faces around your organization, all of whom lack historical corporate intelligence while consuming scarce onboarding resources. Satisfying that challenge is just the minimum required to keep the business moving forward well into 2023.
If you have not properly documented your planning and execution processes, the lack of experience in your supply chain team is going to cause pain. Verbal direction through the ranks will always get diluted as they are passed on (remember the telephone game?) which will undoubtedly muddy the process. Now may be the perfect time to put in place an effective process improvement, education and training program to prepare your operations for the next economic or supply chain shock.
Perhaps instead you have already embarked on your cloud transformation path and have implemented the right tools, but are simply lacking the needed economic and human resources to keep your business focused on the bottom line. In this instance, given labor shortages and particularly understaffed IT teams, you might prioritize AMS programs offered by reliable SAP services partners.
Or maybe you already realize that increased economic risks and continued labor shortages will drive a number of projects, but you remain uncertain how to prioritize or build a business case around launching these initiatives. A workflow assessment or detailed roadmap vision is a quick means of identifying the steps and keeping your team on track for a successful 2023.
Argano, the recently combined SAP companies of SCMO2, Echelon SG and now AGR, has a large team of specialists, many seasoned from years in industry, to help build processes, implement tools, conduct training and sustain a support team that meets your needs and budget.
Don’t get “Hammered” (sorry, couldn’t resist) by this continuously volatile supply chain environment and scarce labor resource market. Budget planning, building a business case and securing the funding for streamlining your processes is as crucial as ever. Let us help!
